Fun with the kids

I was just cleaning the house yesterday when I started thinking about how my

conversation was going to go with Samm when I picked her up from school.

Samm: Where are we going Mom?
Mom: Were going home.
Samm: What are we going to do at home?
Mom: Nothing honey, just play.
Samm: Aww Man!

For Some reason Samm has this idea that we should do something really exciting

everyday. Unfortunately for her though she has a very unexciting Mom. The

McDonalds play place is about as creative as I get. So....I decided I would plan

something fun for us to do that way when she asked what we were doing that day I

wouldn't get the aww man. Then for some reason I suddenly thought about popcorn

balls. I don't have any specific memory of making them as a kid, but I'm pretty sure

we did a few times, because my mom gave me the recipe for them. The kids had a fun

time making them and they were really easy and very tasty. My recipe is a little vague,

but I thought I would share it anyway in case anyone wanted to try it out.

1/4 C water
1 C corn syrup
1 C sugar
1 small package of Jello

Mix all together and boil for 3 minutes. Pour over popcorn and form into balls. (you'll

want butter on your hands for that.)

The part that it doesn't specify is how much popcorn. We have an air popper so I just

used one big scoop of kernals. I've never made it with microwave popcorn so you'll

probably just have to experiment. I'm guessing it would be at least two bags.

Daddy Daughter Dance

The Stake puts on a Daddy Daughter dance every year for Dad's and Daughters of all ages. This was the first year that Josh and Samm went. Don't they look so cute!

Josh stopped by a florist shop on his way home and got Samm a corsage. So adorable!

Samm was sooo excited about the dance that she talked about it everyday for two weeks before it happened. Hmm...I wonder where she gets that from?!?

I have the blahs

So does anyone else ever feel like they are just stuck in a rut? I really don't feel like I have the

baby blues...honest I don't...just the blahs. I'm dying to wear my regular clothes again...ok so

just a pair of pants with a zipper instead of elastic would be great. I'm tired of sitting at home all

day because the thought of going anywhere with three kids is terrifying. I want to fix my hair

and put on makeup...but whats the point if I'm not going anywhere? So I'm doing the only thing I

can right now and I'm dying my hair. Nothing drastic just getting rid of the blonde bangs. I

suddenly thought they looked trashy. Normally when I start feeling like this I go shopping. For

some reason spending money always makes me feel better. However, I thought maybe I should

be more practical this time. So I'm just wondering what you all do when you start feeling a little

bit blah?

My beautiful Kids

My Mom took this picture while she was here and just sent it to me. I was laughing when I saw it because it totally looks like I bribed them with ice cream to smile.

The other Macy???

It's officially a mystery. A few days after we brought Macy home from the hospital James came up to me and asked where Macy was. I told him "she's right here", to which he responded "no, the other Macy." Even though, the kids came with Josh to pick us up from the hospital I figured he was thinking that the Macy at the hospital was different from the one we brought home. He let go of it after a few days though so I did as well. Fast forward a week...Monday night my oh so perfect sweet baby started screaming for hours on end from what I am sure was gas pains. Finally at midnight when James fell out of bed and Samm wanted a drink I was beside myself and started sobbing. Josh came to my rescue though taking care of the older two and then held our screaming baby so I could collect myself. Needless to say I was exhausted on Tuesday. This is when my great friends came to the rescue and two of them took Samm and James home with them to spend the night so I could get some rest while the baby was sleeping. So, What does that have to do with the other Macy? Well, Josh just went and picked up the kids and when they got back James ran straight up to me and asked "where's Macy?" I once again said "she's right here." His responce was "no, the other Macy." Then he proceeded to fall on the floor and cry because I told him that there was no other Macy. So, if anyone knows where I can find the "other" Macy please let me know!!

Signs of life

After one week Macy has finally decided to join the world.
Waking up is hard work though...so with the help of her thumb she goes back to sleep.

Our new little girl!!!

After nine months of waiting and wondering...SHE is finaly here. Macy Marie Rollins. 7 lbs 3 oz, 19 1/2 inches. Everything went really well with the c-section and Macy is doing great. She has no problems at all nursing and is sleeping great. I've even had a few four hour blocks of sleep the last few nights. We are so excited to have her in our family and I can't wait to see her grow up and find out just who she is.

Samm is very excited to have a new sister and said "she is so tiny like a little mouse."

This is pretty much how James feels about her.

Both thought Mom's bed was really cool!

Getting Pampered

I have to start by saying that I have the greatest friends in the world. Not only did they insist on throwing me a baby shower even though this is my 3rd baby, but they made it a pedicure party knowing my great distaste for shower games. I am usually a very good sport though, considering there are baby showers every other month. I even acted out vaginal delivery once when I was forced to participate in charades. I won't go into details but let's just say I am in the history books for that one. So, this is me eating the most delicious coconut cake I have ever tasted (thank you Joni) and getting my toes looking adorable.(thank you Shandolynne) Now if only my sister lived here, Oklahoma would be perfect!

Waiting

Why is it that eight months can fly by and then suddenly a couple of weeks seems like an eternity? I have finally started the one week countdown though and I am frighteningly aware of how unprepared I am.

Getting Busy...not what you think!

Josh has been really busy during this Christmas break remodeling our master bathroom and helping me to repaint our hall bathroom. Both still need a few finishing touches, but I am happy to say that we now have two fully functioning bathrooms.

I don't have a before picture of this bathroom, but lets just say black marble with gold swirls. Josh completely tor out the old unit and installed this one. He even did all the plumbing work for the sinks himself.

I know toilets don't seem all that exciting, but Josh also ripped out this toilet, gutted out the tank, put new "stuff" in, Cleaned it up (thank you honey for that one) and put it back in. He has also replaced the flooring, put up new molding, and painted the walls that used to be purple.

This bathroom is on its third paint job, and I think we have finally found a winner. I really had no intentions of changing it, but then I found a new shower curtain that I fell in love with. I had huge reservations about doing the blue ( I always think ducks and geese) but I have to say I am really pleased with how it turned out.
