She's getting big!

So is this cute girl! (ignore the mess in the background. I was promised a basement when we moved to Michigan where I could have my own crafting space and you can see how that worked out.)

And speaking of cute...I laid her on my bed yesterday so I could hurry and put on some makeup and after a few minutes of rushing before the screaming started, I realized she was unusually quiet.

Of course the beep of the camera woke her up and she wasn't too happy about it.

6 Weeks

Last week a friend from church took some pictures of Laila for me. I've never had professional newborn pictures taken of any of my kids, so I was excited to have someone who actually knew what they were doing taking the pictures.

Hello double chin! She's definitely one of ours.

Of course she was being a little stinker and wouldn't stay asleep for us.

I asked her to take a close up of her right ear for me because I think it is so cute how it folds over and makes the top a little pointy. Her left ear does it a little, but not enough that anyone would notice. She probably won't love it someday, but I love that it makes her unique.

She is already growing up so fast. I need to get my camera out more often.

The names have changed, but the story is the same

Three and a half years ago I posted THIS story about Macy. Instead of typing up a whole new post that says the exact same thing about Laila, I figured everyone could just go re-read the original post and just picture this swing and baby combo instead.

You can also imagine a Hallelujah chorus playing as well! Best $45 I've ever spent!

At the Farm

This week Macy's little preschool group went on a field trip to a farm and lucky for us the weather was beautiful. I love the colors of fall, but it is a sad reminder to me that winter is right around the corner and I am not ready for a repeat of last year.

Although Macy looks several years older than all the other kids, she is actually not even the oldest. She is quickly becoming our hope for a sports scholarship!

With maybe a little modeling on the side?

My Birthday Princess is Nine!

*Update* I posted the recipe for Marshmallow fondant over Here on my other blog in case anyone is interested

We actually celebrated with cake and ice cream yesterday because Josh had to work late tonight, but she still woke up to a king size Hershey bar (her favorite) and a special note from mom on the table. She also got to wear her birthday princess shirt again from last year since it still fit.

This is the cake she helped make and was very proud of. She saw one like it at Sam's Cub and asked if I could make one for her. I had never used fondant before and could not believe how expensive it was to buy, so we made our own marshmallow fondant and tried our hand at cake decorating. I don't think I will be going into the cake decorating business anytime soon, but the girls and I had a fun time making it. I was told it tasted pretty good too.

Happy Birthday Samm!
