A quote from Macy

OK, I know I've been a terrible blogger lately. I promise there will be pictures some time this year. For now though I just had to share this from Macy...

"Mom, will you miss me if I fall in the toilet?"

Christmas party

Josh and I got a rare night out last night for his work Christmas party. We didn't bring a camera though, so the only picture we got was this nice blurry one. And now that I'm looking at it, I think my eyes are closed. Oh well, it was a nice evening, and I'm finally getting to know some of the other wives a little better.
Then I had to come home and clean up this mess. Does anyone else's bed end up looking like this when your trying to get dressed up to go out? OK, or even just when your getting dressed for church?

Anyone???

The big red guy

We had a snow day yesterday and Josh had the day off! It was pretty much perfect. Except for the cold white stuff everywhere, and just the all around freezing cold weather. Other than that, it was perfect. Anyway, we decided to take the kids up to the mall to see Santa. Our mall has this really cool ice palace set up so I thought the kids would love it.

They were pretty much so bored standing in line that it didn't seem worth it. When we finally got into the palace it was really cool, but that lasted a whole two minutes and then they sat on the big guys lap for another ten seconds and we were gone. We weren't even allowed to take our own pictures of the kids sitting on Santa's lap so this is all we got.

Then, today I had to run back to the mall because at the last minute I changed my mind about one of the gifts I had bought. As Macy and I were walking to one of the stores she looked up at me and said "Mom, I don't want to see that Grandpa!" Ha ha, I guess it really wasn't my best idea.

Cookie Cutter Ornaments

The kids and I made these fun ornaments on Monday night for Family Home Evening. They are so easy and the kids had a great time. I posted instruction over Here. Not that glue and glitter really need instructions, but I may have a few tips you will find helpful.

Before I get too far ahead

There's just a few things I want to jot down, for posterity's sake and all...

This goofball turned SIX!

This goofball is just well, still a goofball.

James finally got the skateboard he has been asking for and then Samm used it to smash a hole in the kitchen wall.

My Mom and Dad got to come see our house and finally have a mental picture of where we live.

Macy could not get enough of Grandpa!

I hosted my very first Thanksgiving ever. Ever!

Except for the fact that I did no prep work before Thursday and my oven is tiny, everything turned out great. OK, so if my Mom hadn't been there, it probably would have been a disaster.

Overall, the week was completely jamm packed and went by way too quickly. I need my Mom to come back so we can play a little more.

Conversations with Macy

Today...

Macy: "Can I have a snack?"

Me: "Sure, do you want a muffin?"

Macy: "No, I want some fruit snacks."

Me: "OK"

Macy: "Just one more and that's it! Got it Mom?"

Last week at IKEA...

Macy: "What's that Mom?"

Me: "That's wrapping paper, for wrapping Christmas presents"

Macy: (thinks for a second) "How's Santa going to get it?"

...oops!
